Memories

Just a trip down memory lane. It’s been awesome to reconnect with friends from way back in the “woggie days”. Only people from our early days will even know the significance of that statement. 😉
Some sweet memories: Tom was a fairly new Christian when he went to Bible school. I had left my first semester of Bible school due to loosing a loved one at home. So we started our first semester at the same time. We were seated in alphabetical order so he ended up behind me in most classes. He says he was always impressed with my questions in class because they were questions he had too, but was embarrassed to ask. (I was full of dumb questions back then😂)
Another thing he says (that I’ve always been skeptical about🤨) That he loved Connie Hood before he even met me.💕 I arrived a few days late in the semester and he says people were so concerned about me and asking if I was coming back? So he just couldn’t wait to meet me.
After that he says he sat behind me and prayed away several other potential suitors. According to him they were losers and I was Florence Nightingale, trying to rescue them. Ha! Maybe that’s why I never gave him the time of day for a whole year. He didn’t need rescuing.
Finally, after a year of praying for me, the oddest thing happened. A huge snow storm had several of us stranded at Bible School over the holidays. If his flight hadn’t been canceled we would not have had the opportunity to be bored and homesick for our beloved state of Washington.
He has always had a gift for drawing people out and getting to know people. Genuinely interested in who you are. I was actually pleasantly surprised what a nice guy he was. He finally got to leave for the holidays. I stayed in Michigan.
The next semester my former roommate got wind of the interest Tom had for me. Actually, she just came right out and asked him. She became a good match maker, and the rest is history. Thank Joy Dage Dage. 😘
